Real Life. Real Growth. Real Wellness.
CarlaJean143 is the home of Balanced but Barely—a real-life wellness and personal growth platform that blends emotional healing, practical tools, honest conversations, and a little humor for those of us navigating strength and struggle at the same time.
Balanced but Barely was born from Carla Jean's own search for something deeply human: to feel safe, happy, loved, and fully alive.
After navigating trauma, anxiety, personal growth, healing, and the complicated work of learning how to show up for herself—even on the hard days—Carla Jean wanted to create the kind of wellness space she wished she'd had along the way.
One where you don't have to pretend you're perfectly balanced.
Where healing doesn't require having everything figured out.
And where being strong doesn't mean you're not allowed to struggle.
Experience Meets Real Life
After decades of practicing yoga and meditate to manage her mental health, Carla Jean obtained a certified yoga and meditation certification in 2013. She specializes in practices that support people navigating anxiety, depression, PTSD, chronic stress, and emotional overwhelm.
But her experience extends far beyond the traditional yoga studio.
Over the years, Carla Jean has brought yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and practical self-regulation tools into domestic violence shelters, juvenile detention, prison, drug and alcohol recovery centers, and even a high school football program—working with people in environments where stress isn't theoretical and "just relax" isn't particularly useful advice.
Those experiences helped shape the philosophy behind Balanced but Barely: wellness has to work in real life.
Here, emotional depth and spirituality meet practical coping tools. Self-work exists alongside self-compassion. Progress matters more than perfection. And the messy, complicated, in-between moments are just as worthy of attention as the breakthroughs.
Through the Balanced but Barely podcast, Energy Reset Online Courses, and exclusive community resources, you'll find approachable tools and support designed to help you better understand yourself, recognize what your mind and body are communicating, regulate stress, create healthier patterns, reconnect with what you need, and take meaningful steps toward a life that feels more like your own.
This space is for anyone doing the work, craving something more, and becoming who they're meant to be—one beautifully imperfect step at a time.
You don't have to have it all together to start feeling better.
Welcome to Balanced but Barely. We're figuring this out together.
